What is a box spring?

A box spring is an English term for a bed base, literally meaning "a box with metal springs." Metal springs are placed inside the box or "bed frame" and finished with a top layer. The entire structure is then covered with fabric or leather. This box spring, combined with a mattress, gives the look of a "hotel bed."
Typically, a box spring refers to the entire box, mattress, and topper. Don't be mistaken: the box spring itself serves only as a support for a mattress (and topper) and is primarily aesthetic! A box spring is only as good as the mattress it sits on.

What is the best mattress for a box spring?

A pocket spring mattress is the best choice for a box spring because it provides optimal support and comfort. The box spring itself primarily serves as a firm support surface, while the mattress provides all the pressure distribution and ergonomic support. Thanks to the individually wrapped pocket springs, the mattress conforms perfectly to the body's contours and ensures good ventilation. (electrically) Adjustable box springs

  • Box spring against reflux

    If you want to lie with your head elevated due to reflux, it's important that the entire base is inclined. A common mistake is to only elevate the backrest. This results in a completely slumped position, with all the attendant consequences. The base should be able to be inclined in various positions.

  • Electric adjustable box

    If you want to enjoy reading or watching TV comfortably in bed, consider an electrically adjustable box spring. You can adjust the back and legs separately until you find the perfect position. Keep in mind that it's best to choose a pocket spring mattress that's relatively pliable.

  • High-low box spring
